Review time
Pre-screening takes 7 to 10 business days, then the first review of a complete house application takes 10.

At least 1.22 m (4 ft) high, with self-closing gates that latch at the top on the inside. You apply in person or by mail, with a sworn statutory declaration.

What an application usually includes

Mississauga’s checklist has the exact list; apply through City of Mississauga ePlans.

  • A site plan showing the pool, the enclosure and the gates
  • A cross-section of the fence with its height and openings
  • Gate details: self-closing, self-latching, latch height
  • The application, and an inspection before you fill the pool

Local quirks

  • ePlans wants unlocked greyscale PDFs, one drawing per file, each named to match its title block.
  • Resubmissions have no guaranteed review time, and each round can add two weeks or more.

Design your Mississauga pool enclosure to the Building Code.

The design, drawings and code checks work in Mississauga today. Mississauga’s own forms aren’t built in yet, so you’ll fill those in on the City’s portal.
